School Responsibilities to Support Student Success
Utilize high quality curriculum and deliver effective instruction that enables children to learn Colorado Academic Standards.
Create an effective, safe, and supportive environment for students to learn.
Provide research-based interventions and/or enrichment for all students in order to increase growth and achievement in math and literacy.
Progress monitor students and engage in collaborative conversations utilizing data to determine the next steps in instruction.
Hold parent-teacher conferences in October and March. (Additional conferences may be scheduled if parents/guardians or the school identifies a need.)
Communicate student progress through report cards in October, January, March and May.
Provide regular school communication to families through the communication avenue parents/guardians select when registering their child.
Provide opportunities for parents/guardians to volunteer and participate in their child's class and school activities.
Provide parents/guardians resources to support the social, emotional, physical and academic development of each child.
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities to Support Student Learning
Ensure children are punctual and attend school regularly.
Ensure daily homework is completed.
Read daily to their children.
Participate as an active member of my child’s education team.
Promote positive use of children's extracurricular time.
Stay informed by promptly reading all notices from the school or Academy District 20 received by children, email, text, or mail and respond as appropriate.
Participate to the extent possible on school committees and at school events.
Student Responsibilities for Active Participation in Learning
Arrive at school on time and engage in learning.
Listen to and follow the directions of all school staff.
Respect themselves, classmates, teachers and the environment at school.
Be responsible for completing schoolwork and behave in a caring and thoughtful way.
Do homework and read daily outside of school, to the best of their ability, and ask for help when needed.
Give parents or responsible adults all notices and information received at school.
