Inclusive Instruction

An ESL magnet school, Pioneer Elementary assesses each child to build a learning approach that works specific to their needs. Reading, writing, math and science are taught through one-on-one interaction, teamwork activities, interventions and hands-on learning that challenges and rewards commitment.

Team Effort

Pioneer works with every single student and family member to understand what’s needed for academic success. This extends beyond the classroom, making sure students have supplies, snack bags and meals, clothing and other items. Open lines of communication between staff and home help equip families and smooth the learning runway.

Creative Approach

Pioneer Elementary teachers have the freedom to make learning fun. They work together across subjects and grades to understand learning, generating lessons and activities that stick with students. Teachers plan purposefully to provide creative challenges that put smiles on kids’ faces.

Culture of Caring

While academics are the focus, caring teachers and staff stand out at Pioneer. High levels of student learning is fostered through collaboration, care and support of academic, social and emotional needs. Teachers know students and families personally and work in many capacities to enrich the educational experience.
