Meet Pioneer's Music teacher
I moved from
Grand Junction to Colorado Springs about a year ago to begin my student
teaching. I love it here and I love how music is taught differently than in
Grand Junction, so I decided to apply for jobs out here. I graduated with a Bachelors
in Music Education from Colorado Mesa University last
December. A couple months ago, I got my first dog named Diesel and he is
amazing and loves to go on hikes. I am super excited to finally get my teaching
career going and I can’t wait to start teaching all the students at Pioneer!
Meet Pioneer's Art teacher
I am very excited to be your new art teacher! I have been an
elementary school teacher for 19 years and an art teacher for 1 year. I
majored in art at UCCS and I have always incorporated art into the curriculum.
Through art children can express themselves in unique and creative ways.
I am thrilled to get to share my love of art with the students at Pioneer
I have taught grades K-11, but the elementary grades are my
favorite! I taught for 6 years in San Diego and Los Angeles where I was a
classroom teacher and an English as a Second Language teacher. I also
taught for 7 years in Portland, OR. Many of my students in Oregon were also
second language students. I am originally from Colorado Springs and I was very
happy to move back home to be closer to family. I have been married to my
wonderful husband for 14 years and we have two children and a
Meet Pioneer's Tech Coach
I'm thrilled to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year. I have
been a classroom teacher and tech coach for many years. I love the tech coach role because I work alongside our talented teachers in classrooms to implement digital tools within traditional instruction. Mobile devices like iPads, interactive
whiteboards (like our SmartBoards), digital cameras, Internet resources,
and cool software puts much creativity, knowledge, and power into the
hands of students. They are enthusiastic technology learners and I am
privileged to teach kids, teachers, parents, and staff about using
technology to ask questions, learn new ideas, communicate understanding,
and create high-quality products.
Meet Pioneer's PE Teacher
and health are very important components for children and adults of all
ages. In Pioneer Physical Education, we focus on quality movement and
activity through fitness activities and sport. Mrs. Miller is a teaching
veteran, having taught at the middle, high, and now elementary level.
She holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, and works with US
Lacrosse as a Coaches Education Program trainer on a national level.
Meet Pioneer's Spanish Teacher
I am a fifth generation Denver native. I completed a
teacher education program at the University of Northern Colorado. I stayed in
the area and have been teaching near Greeley for two years. I have taught
technology and worked with English learners and gifted students. My passion is
Spanish! I can't wait to move to Colorado Springs and start this chapter of my
career! I will be returning from a month of volunteering in Costa Rica! I plan
to start a Spanish Teaching master's program next summer. I have been with my
wonderful boyfriend Austin for almost three years. We have two very sweet
rabbits named Tuli and Thea who we love to take for walks!
